Compliance
Compliance is at the heart of our recruitment process
Healthcare recruitment requires robust candidate verification. This is how we approach it, and what you can expect from us.
Verification is part of the process, not an afterthought
Care providers are accountable for the people working in their services. A Registered Manager appointment in particular carries regulatory weight, and the evidence behind it has to stand up to inspection.
We agree which checks a role requires with you before we begin searching. As candidates progress, we tell you what has been completed, what is outstanding, and anything that needs your decision.
We will never tell you a check has been completed when it has not. Where a check is still in progress, or where a candidate has declared something we have not yet verified, we say so.
What screening can cover
Which of these apply depends on the role, the setting and its regulated activity.
-
Identity verification
Confirming a candidate is who they say they are, using original documentation.
-
Right to work in the UK
Checking a candidate’s right to work in line with Home Office requirements.
-
DBS checks
Enhanced DBS disclosure appropriate to the role, including Update Service status where a candidate is registered.
-
Employment references
References covering recent employment, requested directly from the employer rather than the candidate.
-
Professional qualification checks
Verification of the qualifications a role requires, including management and care qualifications.
-
NMC verification
Where applicableRegister checks with the Nursing and Midwifery Council for roles requiring a nursing registration.
-
HCPC verification
Where applicableRegister checks with the Health and Care Professions Council for registered health professionals.
-
Setting-specific requirements
Role dependentAny further checks the setting or its CQC-regulated activity requires, agreed with you before we begin.
Declarations and verified checks are not the same thing
When a candidate registers with us they tell us about their right to work, their DBS position and any professional registration they hold. Those are declarations — a starting point for screening, not evidence.
Verification happens separately, against original documents and the relevant registers. We keep the two clearly apart in our records and in what we tell you.
Accreditations and memberships
We only display a membership or accreditation once it is confirmed and current.

Data protection
Candidate records and CVs contain personal data, so we handle them under UK data protection law. CVs are stored privately and are never published or made available through a public link.
We do not send a candidate’s CV or details to a provider without their agreement, and candidates can ask us to correct or delete their record.
Safeguarding
The people placed through us support vulnerable adults. Safeguarding informs how we screen candidates, what we escalate and what we will not put forward.
If you have a safeguarding concern about anyone we have introduced to your service, raise it with us and with the relevant local authority safeguarding team without delay.
[SAFEGUARDING POLICY]
Reserved for the published safeguarding policy and named safeguarding contact, once confirmed by the business.
