Temporary staffing
Temporary healthcare staffing
Healthcare assistants, carers and nurses to support your service. We are building this service — register your interest and we will let you know when it launches.
Rota gaps do not wait for a recruitment process
Sickness, holiday and turnover leave shifts uncovered, and an uncovered shift is a safe staffing problem before it is an administrative one. Agencies fill the gap, but the quality varies and the compliance paperwork often arrives after the shift rather than before it.
The providers we speak to do not want more CVs. They want to know that whoever turns up has been checked properly and has done the work before.
- An uncovered shift is a safe staffing issue, not just a rota one
- Compliance evidence should arrive before the shift, not after
- Consistency of staff matters to the people receiving care
How we help
The same standard, applied to temporary staff
Our approach to temporary staffing is the one we already take with leadership appointments: understand the service, screen candidates properly, and be straight about what has been verified.
-
Healthcare Assistants
Support for personal care, daily living and the routines of your service.
-
Carers
Experienced care staff for residential, domiciliary and supported living settings.
-
Nurses
Registered nurses, with NMC register checks where a registration is required.
-
Compliance-led screening
The same verification approach as our permanent and interim appointments.
Candidate profile
The staff we will put forward
What we will look for before someone is offered a shift in your service.
- Relevant recent experience in a comparable care setting
- Identity and right to work verified against original documents
- An enhanced DBS check appropriate to the role
- NMC registration confirmed on the register, for nursing roles
- References covering recent employment
The process
How recruitment works
Three steps, and you will know where things stand at each of them.
-
Step 1: Tell Us What You Need
Provide details about the role, service and urgency.
-
Step 2: We Identify Suitable Candidates
Candidates are reviewed against the requirements and relevant compliance criteria.
-
Step 3: Interview & Placement
You meet suitable candidates and proceed with the preferred appointment.
Compliance
Checked before the shift, not after it
Temporary staffing is where compliance most often slips, because the pressure is immediate. Our intention is the opposite: agree what a role requires, verify it, and tell you exactly what has been confirmed before anyone is offered a shift.
-
Identity verification
Confirming a candidate is who they say they are, using original documentation.
-
Right to work in the UK
Checking a candidate’s right to work in line with Home Office requirements.
-
DBS checks
Enhanced DBS disclosure appropriate to the role, including Update Service status where a candidate is registered.
-
Employment references
References covering recent employment, requested directly from the employer rather than the candidate.
-
Professional qualification checks
Verification of the qualifications a role requires, including management and care qualifications.
-
NMC verification
Where applicableRegister checks with the Nursing and Midwifery Council for roles requiring a nursing registration.
-
HCPC verification
Where applicableRegister checks with the Health and Care Professions Council for registered health professionals.
-
Setting-specific requirements
Role dependentAny further checks the setting or its CQC-regulated activity requires, agreed with you before we begin.
